There are seven elements that all magic is derived from, with each element falling under three categories:

> - [ ] [[Dual Element]]
> - [ ] [[Binder Element]]
### Spells / Static
Spells require either verbal, somatic (movement), and/or material components in order to cast a spell. Most spells were designed with the caster in mind, so very few (if any) actually pose a danger whenever a spell is cast.
Spells are generally used by the majority of sentient creatures, which include humans, elves, orcs, etc. All spells are categorized into four traditions and are notated using [[spell glyphs]]. Because spells can come from different traditions, a color key is used in teaching manuals to help beginners differentiate between the different spell collections. The standardized color sets are as follows:

### Bending / Dynamic
Bending is the common term associated to describe the techniques Kineticists use. Although there are many similarities, bending is actually an advanced technique with the ability to render spells inert.
Similar to the Kineticist, bending draws from the surrounding area rather than the user's magical force. The main difference between the two is that spells can be used in tandem with a manipulated element, which significantly increases the power output and damage compared to Kineticists, who generally are unable to mix spells with their techniques. However, because bending cannot be infused with safety features like spells, bending poses a significantly greater risk to the user, especially if they are inexperienced.
Both the [[Tirpis]] and the [[Last Voices]] have a natural connection to the elements thanks to their composition, therefore they can bend their element with ease and are the primary users of bending. Because of the inherent risks bending can cause, bending is not taught to humanoids or other sentient creatures; this effectively renders bending as a [[Tirpis]]/[[Last Voices]]-only technique.
[[Tirpis]] can only bend the elements attributed to their assigned element, usually determined by their [[Elemental Aspect]] (this is also present in the [[Last Voices]], however this is more out of personal choice rather than an actual limitation). This means that a Fire-oriented [[Tirpis]] can branch out into any other element closely related to Fire, however only fire-type techniques will be effective; all other learned elements will be significantly weaker. Below is a breakdown of the elements available to each orientation:
