#world #language
***
A series of languages created by the [[Numittao]]. Because they originally come from various flora and fauna, the [[Numittao]] do not start off speaking or writing other humanoid languages (the majority of them do understand what is being said, though). To facilitate the learning process, these "tongues" were developed to mimic humanoid speech patterns, while still incorporating their original species' communication patterns. These eventually evolved and developed into languages that other Humanoids can learn.

### Notes
- [ ] Leshiye are the only [[Numittao]] that do not have a Tongue of their own; this is due to plants not having a brain to communicate ideas, unlike the other [[Numittao]] prior to their transformations. The Gnomes took pity and taught the Leshy how to speak Fey so that they could communicate with others.
- [ ] Athamaru and Merfolk originally had their own language. However, due to the environment and similar communication methods, both languages merged to create the now known Thalassic Tongue.
- [ ] On a technical level, the Jotunborn taught Minotaurs Jotun. However, due to a significantly bigger population, Minotaurs were able to adapt and change Jotun to better fit their phonetic usage. This, in turn, has caused Jotunborn to acclimate to the Minotaur's version instead of their own.
